Global Digital Solutions, Inc. Award of $195M in Damages Affirmed by Eleventh Circuit Federal Court of Appeals
 

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., November 08, 2022--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global Digital Solutions, Inc. (OTC: GDSI), a company that is positioning itself as a leader in Transportation Technology Solutions, has announced that the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals has affirmed the lower court’s ruling awarding damages of approximately $195 million from Grupo Rontan Electro Metalurgica, S.A., Joao Alberto Bolzan and Jose Carlos Bolzan.

The decision affirms the award to Global Digital Solutions, Inc. for Specific Performance (Rights to Rontan Metalurgica) and incidental damages of $192,448,000. Interest and legal fees have increased the initial award to north of $195 million.

William Delgado, CEO and Chairman of GDSI, added, "We are very pleased that the Eleventh Circuit validated our position regarding these damages. Our United States legal team of Boies, Schiller, Flexner and our Brazilian legal team have done an outstanding job on this case. In addition, we have engaged one of the premier corporate investigative and intelligence firms to help identify assets to support our damages award. They have identified assets significantly greater than our damages award and the company intends to begin collection action on these assets immediately."

William J. Delgado

Biography

William J. Delgado was recently named GDSI’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.  During the period August, 2004 through August, 2013, Bill served as Director, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer.  Effective August 12, 2013, he assumed the position of Executive Vice President, specializing in business development.  

Bill has over 33 years of management experience including strategic planning, feasibility studies, economic analysis, design engineering, network planning, construction and maintenance.  He began his career with Pacific Telephone in the Outside Plant Construction Division.  He moved to the network engineering group and concluded his career at Pacific Bell as the Chief Budget Analyst for the Northern California region.

Mr. Delgado founded All Star Telecom in late 1991, specializing in OSP construction and engineering and systems cabling. All Star Telecom was sold to International FiberCom in April of 1999. After leaving International FiberCom in 2002, Mr. Delgado became President/CEO of Pacific Comtel in San Diego, California.  After GDSI acquired Pacific Comtel in 2004, Mr. Delgado became President, CEO, CFO and a Director of the Company.

Mr. Delgado holds a BS degree with honors in Applied Economics from the University of San Francisco and Graduate studies in Telecommunications Management at Southern Methodist University.
